Google launched Android Auto a couple of years ago with a goal to set a better integration between cars and phones. The whole idea behind the move is to provide an easier way to access the information for drivers. Over 200 new models of cars from 50 Brands are up for the Android Auto and much more launching every day.
Android Auto made its debut in Indian market early this year, and Mahindra claims the first to be first to adopt this technology in the country. Now, It comes with all the high-end vehicles but still lacks this functionality.
Google has decided to update the Android Auto application to make it compatible even with the older cars. Google bring the same connected experience to these drivers too as the Android Auto will work on your smartphone, just like a screen in your vehicle.

Anyone with an Android version of Marshmallow 5.0 and above can install the app and make use of it in the car for music, directions, and communications at the same time. You can plug your smartphone on the phone holder, or you can just put it in front of you and drive, and the app does the job. You can have directions indicating turn by turn while picking out your favorite playlist.
Google is planning to roll out latest version with the phone screen experience in the coming days. The best part of the update is voice command feature, and the update comes to more than 30 countries where Android Auto is presently available.

“This update also brings the ability to automatically start the app when the phone is paired with Bluetooth. While you can put your phone in any car mount, please keep an eye out for Bluetooth-supported car mounts such as Logitech’s Smart Car mount, which is coming soon to the Google Store and select retail locations.” Google mentioned in a Blog post.
Now you can say ‘Ok Google’ and request the app to find directions to your destination, play music for you or make phone calls. You can also request Google to type a message and send it when you’re done. The update will be available to smartphones very soon and get ready to use it the next time when you’re driving.
