Child labour is one of the evil in the present society that dragging the growth of our country. A massive number of children are forced to do labour daily. Child trafficking is increasing day by day. Government is taking measures to stop child labour in the world. To raise activities and awareness to prevent child labour, World Day Against Child Labour is celebrating. It is an International Labour organization which launched in 2002. WDACL is celebrated every year in the month of June.

World Day Against Child Labour 2017 date is June 12. It is intended to foster the worldwide movement against child labour in any of its firm. Every year this event is celebrated with a unique theme; World Day Against Child Labour 2017 Theme is “In conflicts and disasters, protect children from child labour”. People around the country take part in World Against Chid Labour Activities to create awareness on preventing child labour.

“Urgent action is needed to tackle child labour in areas affected by conflict and disaster. If the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Target 8.7 - which aims to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour - is to be achieved by 2030,” stated the International Labour Organisation ahead of WDACL-2017.

According to the ILO’s data, millions of girls and boys throughout the world involved in heavy labour which results in loss of adequate education, health, leisure and basic freedom. Half of the children are forced to worst form of child labour, those includes, work in hazardous environments, slavery or other form of forced labour. Some children are exposed to drug trafficking and prostitution, as well as involvement in armed conflict.
