working longer heartbeats

Irregular Heartbeats: People work long hours and some work extra time to earn money. They may get money, but you’re spoiling your health. Researchers came to prove that, the study says due to working for long hours you may get heart problems. It has found that Atrial fibrillation was 40% more to develop in people who work more than 55 hours per week.

According to NHS, Atrial fibrillation causes irregular and fast heart beat. Normally the person heart beat is between 60 and 100 per minute. In Atrial fibrillation, it can be higher to 100 beats a minute.

Professor Mika Kivimaki, from University College London, who led the research, said: “Those who worked long hours had 1.4 times higher risk of developing atrial fibrillation. Even after we had adjusted for factors that could affect the risk, such as age, sex, socioeconomic status, obesity, leisure time physical activity, smoking and risky alcohol use.”

This reason is straight, working long hours may cause to get higher heart stroke. The team had tested on 85,500 men and women. Each categorized into different groups depending on the length of their working hours like People who work less than 35 hours a week, 41-48 hours a week, and 35-40 hours a week and so on.

Consumption of Energy Drinks Leads To Cardiac Attacks, Reveals Study

In the study, it was proved that for every 1000 people 5.2 cases were caused by atrial fibrillation since they are working for long hours from past ten years. Participants who work for very less time at the start of the studies have a regular heart beat.

Professor Kivimaki said: “Nine out of ten of the atrial fibrillation cases occurred in people who were free of pre-existing or concurrent cardiovascular disease. Suggests the increased risk is likely to reflect the effect of long working hours rather than the effect of any pre-existing or concurrent heart disease, but further research is needed to understand the mechanisms involved.”

The team wanted to advertise that 40% risk factor to people who are already facing heart problems, high blood pressure, male sex, diabetes, smoking, overweight, physical inactivity, high cholesterol and people living with cardiovascular disease

Kivimaki said “For a healthy, young person, with few if any of these risk factors, the absolute increased risk of atrial fibrillation associated with long working hours is small,”
Atrial fibrillation causes dizziness, shorten the breath and tiredness to people.
