Panama Papers Case : Screws tightening around Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Shariff. Pakistan’s Supreme Court ordered Mr. Shariff to appear before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).The Supreme Court asked the Investigation to submit a report in 60 days.

The Five-member bench divided into two, where the majority of the Judges in the panel opted for not letting the PM to dethrone. The 67-year-old Nawaz Sharif has been named in the “Panama Papers” and accused of corruption charges.

Though there’s no evidence to prove allegations on Shariff the Supreme Court of Pakistan asked the JIT to investigate his family’s offshore wealth and properties.

Opposition party leader Imran Khan and other oppositions had been asking the courts to probe against the Pakistan Prime Minister. On the other hand, the ruling ML-N party insists that all the off-shore wealth were legitimately earned.

Mr. Shariff is an industrialist before coming into politics and has four children. He is serving his third term as Pakistan’s PM, after the first two terms being intervened by the country’s armed forces

In the year 2016, the Panama Papers were released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). The leak brought 11.5 million secret documents into limelight which describes the offshore wealth & dealings of world’s Richest people.
