The internet was flooded with the images of newly leaked Xbox S indicating Microsoft’s future plan for their gaming console department. There were multiple video snippets and reports posted online regarding the design of the alleged secret gaming console, which Microsoft was yet to release for the masses.
After some hours of buzz in the market, Microsoft finally revealed that they are actually meant to do something and confirmed that Xbox S does exist. Microsoft teased all the Xbox fanatics by saying that it will be “the smallest Xbox ever”. This gaming console will be launched for a price of just $299.
Brad Sams, a longtime Microsoft tracking reporter shared a screenshot of the design of the apparent Xbox Series S and that took the internet by storm. The image revealed a white, slim and just half the size of Xbox X console and also revealed the price $299 beside the console. However, Brad did not reveal how he got to know about the image and the price tag, but he insisted that he has been tracking the development of the console since it was being planned to be developed under the secret name of Lockhart.
If all the rumors are true, then Series S might have a lot of new technical features that can be found in the X series. These features may also include “Velocity Architecture”, which helps in fast loading of the game or other new graphic effects too. However, we might see Microsoft holding back when it will come to resolution and higher frame rates in order to make the console available just under $300 price point. It is being estimated that the Peak rendering level offered by Series S will be 4 teraflops when compared to 12 teraflops offered by Series X.
Shortly after Sam posting the pic and revealing the price of the console, other sources also posted some relevant information confirming the price of the product. WC’s report also confirmed the price tag of the Series S and also said that the Series X might cost up to $499.
A video snippet shared by Twitter user @_h0x0d_ showcased a 4 sec long video where the two console Series S and Series X being compared side by side thus clearly depicting the size comparison of both the consoles.
