Nasscom Denied Reports of Mass-Layoffs in India’s IT sector

New Delhi: Ever Since Donald Trump took as President of United States of America, the careers of Indians in the USA fell in the stake. As automation is also growing rapidly, the first industry to fall is the Information Technology.

So the IT sector is shivering with the fear of falling. However, NASSCOM is trying hard to prove all tose things are just rumors and there is no truth in them. NASSCOM Chairman Raman Roy stated that even though automation is taking over the IT Industry, the constant up gradation in the departments keeps the industry safe and secure.

NASSCOM estimated that the number of IT employees in India in the year 2018 will increase by 1,50,000. Last year 1,70,000 IT employees joined the list. So comparatively the number has decreased this time by 20000.

However, by the year 2025, the IT industry might worth $ 35000 crore. As the situations in every department keep on changing, the NASSCOM roup associated with Boston Consulting Group stated that changing job goals now and then is the solution.

The top 5th biggest company in the IT industry Tech Mahindra CEO, C P Gurnani clarified that not only Mahindra but no other IT company dare to lose competent and experienced employees ever. NASSCOM also claimed that the unemployment due to lack of knowledge and experience would remain in between 0.5% to 3%.

India is Expected to have 730 million Web Users by 2020 says NASSCOM Report

With Internet penetration getting deeper into the rural areas, India is expected to have more than double to 730 million web users by 2020 said a NASSCOM report.

IT apex body Nasscom and content delivery network service Akamai Technologies released a report on Wednesday “The Future of the Internet in India.”

“By 2020 the internet is expected to penetrate deeper in the hinterlands of the country, helping create more opportunities for everyone,” said R. Chandrashekhar, president, Nasscom.

The reports said that India would continue to remain fastest growing internet market with 75% of new users will consume data in local languages.

Million job opportunities in India by 2025 in Cyber Security: Nasscom  

India is next only to China regarding internet user base. India’s Internet consumption has already exceeded the US to become number two globally.

This growth in Internet user base will be led by e-commerce, travel hospitality, financial technology and media sector.

“By 2020, India will have an estimated 702 million smartphones in use and mobile phones will emerge as the preferred device for shopping, accounting for 70 per cent of total online shopping,” the report said.

LeEco plans to hire more than 1000 engineers for R&D in India

The overall e-commerce market in India valued at $17 billion in 2015-16, and this is expected to reach $ 34 billion with 175 million individuals transacting online. Said the report.

More than 50% of the travel-related transactions will be made online by 2020. The reports also said that the financial technology market of the country would be increasing by 17% by 2020.

“The go-to-market strategy for gaining new users will have to be different as these customers will consume more audio and video content than text,” said Achyuta Ghosh, Nasscom Head Research.

Million job opportunities in India by 2025 in Cyber Security: Nasscom

To secure the data, Nasscom release a report on Monday to create $35 billion revenue opportunity and employment opportunity for a million professionals by 2025 for India.

Nasscom chair cyber security Task Force Rajendra said, “Another important aspects will be start up. We expect to see about 1,000 start ups coming up in this area. This is due to the smaller companies are lighted footed and yet have the best of technologies. Also there have been a lot of investors in this area as enterprise         s look to stay secured against rising incidents by cyber attacks”.

Efforts towards improving cyber security will leads to create $25 billion (nearly Rs 1.66 lakh crore) revenue opportunities in India by 2025, the IT industry body said.

In 2015, IT security market is about $77 billion and growing at over 8% annually. The demand for security workforce will rise globally to six million by 2019, 4 million in 2015, will projected shortfall of 1.5M.

The cyber security is about $2.5-3 billion or about 2% of the close to USD 150 billion Indian sector, with the sector on track to reach $350 billion by 2025, estimate 10% of this to be cyber security is added by Nasscom Chair Cyber Security Task Force Rajendra Pawar.

On Monday, Nasscom together with Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and Security Software firm Symantec launched the ‘National Occupational Standards’ for 10 cyber security job roles with the corresponding qualification packs (QP) in line with National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF)  points at creating a pool of certified cyber security professionals in the country. Symantec has introduced scholarship to 1,000 women undertaking the cyber security certification by SSC Nasscom.

With the aim of making the ‘Digital India’ successful and creating the next generation of cyber professionals to securing India’s critical information infrastructure and battling cybercrime this 1million job opportunity in cyber security is introduced in India, Nasscom President R Chandrashekar said.
