Microsoft is prepping up for the launch of the new Surface Laptop 4, which is expected to flaunt the latest processor tech from AMD as well as Intel.

Choice of Processors

As per the latest rumors, it’s being predicted that Surface Laptop 4 would offer choices of Intel Tiger Lake-U CPUs as well as AMD Ryzen 4000 processors.

With the latest processors, you can expect big leaps in performance of these machines over their predecessors. If we were to believe the insider tip from a reliable source, we could see a giant leap in performance and overall feel of the Surface Laptop 4 in comparison to the Surface Laptop 3.

The Tiger Lake-U processor is expected to come with a 2.7GHz base clock, while the 4.3 GHz boost clock, would come with 4-cores & 8-threads.

Other Surface Laptop 4 is expected to come with choices of 8GB and 16GB RAM, along with 256GB/512GB of SSD storage options.

If you look at the general trend of Microsoft, they usually uncover the next-gen Surface Laptops at the annual October event, and given the whole COVID-19 scenario at the moment, we don’t hope to see anything sooner from them in 2020.

High Hopes with the Surface Laptop 4

A lot of people were disappointed last year as they felt Microsoft might have jumped the gun with underpowered AMD processors last year on its Surface Laptop 3. But, Ryzen 4000 chipset would definitely put up a fair show against Intel CPUs, and give a reason for customers to consider the new Surface 4.

It would be safe to assume that we’re still at least 6 months away from the launch of Microsoft Surface Laptop 4, but it comes as a pleasant surprise, given the fact that Surface Laptop 3 was launched just 4 months earlier, and that the company has addressed its short-comings and already started working on a better version for 2020.
