IPL has taken its twist and turns and it is almost coming to an end. It has been a one and half month to be precise since it started.  Chennai Super Kings has already concreted their position in this IPL and they had to play against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali. The Skipper, MS Dhoni has under gone too much of back pain as he has to keep the wickets. He was rested for two matches as his fitness has to continue till the World Cup 2019.

The pitch was little tricky and it is majorly considered as a batting friendly pitch. The toss was won by KXIP and they chose to bowl first. Duplessis and Shane Watson came in to bat.  Even though KXIP bowling attack is not up to the mark, they could manage to pick Shane Watson at the start of the powerplay. Raina and Duplessis complimented and assessed the pitch really well. They respected the good balls and punished the bad balls over the boundaries. The Duo managed to put a very good partnership which helped CSK reach 170 run target.  Duplessis carried his form again and fell short of 4 runs to get to this Century.

The asking rate was not so high. Lokesh Rahul and Chris Gayle opened the innings for KXIP. Deepak Chahar, a young seamer bowled beautifully with the new ball. Having said that he completely lost his line and started to bowl to the batsman’s strength. Lokesh Rahul was brilliant in the middle. He smacked CSK’s spinners out of the ball park. Harbhajan singh was hammered for runs. They were cruising at 10 runs per over and Lokesh Rahul got out when he was in 70. Bhajji was again introduced into the attack and he could deliver three wickets as KXIP batsman started hitting the ball in the air. Nicholas Pooran, wicket keeper batsman finished things off in style.
