Maharashtra TET

The Government of Maharashtra has announced the launch details of new web portal ‘Pavitra’ for the recruitment of applicants for teacher jobs through Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). So from now onwards all the details about Maharashtra TET will be furnished in the new website.

The government claims that this portal would create a database of three to five lakh candidates which would link with Aadhar card and SHALARTH. The State Education Department Principal Secretary, Nand Kumar said that the main aim is to get hundred percent of success rate in the Pragati Shaikshanik Maharashtra Abhiyan.

In order to get exact data on teachers, the officials have launched this new website. He further added that there are around three to four lakh vacant seats of teacher jobs in the state schools. The Maharashtra TET will be conducted two times every year. The complete details such as from recruitment to results declaration all will be disclosed in Pavitra.

This Pavitra portal was designed by National Information Centre and the primary intention of launching a new web portal for Maharashtra TET is stop the corruption related to appointment of non-eligible teachers. He said that the state government would look after the Municipal Corporation and Zilla Parishad schools only.

But after the issue in 2012, the government has announced that they will take entire recruitment process. Through Pavitra portal, the officials will get complete details about state-wise and district-wise vacant seats of Teachers.

Currently, there are 21,600 secondary schools, 86,412 primary schools that are spread across 33 districts in 44,000 villages. The entire process of recruitment of teachers in Zilla Parishad, Municipal schools, would be undertaken through Pavitra also includes conduction of Maharashtra TET.

Earlier the government has launched the SARAL portal which consists of school details such as students, teaching and non-teaching staff and also covers the records attendance of pupils. The government seeks to repeat the success with the new portal for conducting Maharashtra TET.
