Students taking Admissions in Various Engineering Colleges for professional courses, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has identified 23 Fake Universities 279 Fake Technical Colleges in India. As per this survey, Delhi tops the list with 66 Fake colleges, which is highest for a State in the country.
Students seeking for various Under Graduation and Post Graduation Courses in Engineering colleges get disappointed with this news. This “Fake” named Universities and colleges are running without permission of UGC and AICTE.
“We send the list of unapproved and unregulated technical institutions to concerned state authorities for taking appropriate action against such Institutions”, Said by officials
These 23 Fake Universities 279 Fake Technical Colleges in India, offering engineering and other technical courses without its permission. These Universities do not have authority to grant degrees to the students and education certificates are invalid.

Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister of State for Human Resource Development had said in Rajya Sabha recently that the ministry had asked all the Government to investigate the matters and file Police complaints against Fake Universities.
The State Government have also asked to take action against institutions that cheat students by misrepresenting themselves as “Universities” awarding degrees with their name.
The Fake colleges are in various states like Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra and huge number of institutions. Hence, students don’t apply for such colleges with name called Fake Universities
Therefore, 23 Fake Universities 279 Fake Technical Colleges in India and other technical education the AICTE has issued notices for not taking approvals.
