Good news for the Internet Explorer lovers. Microsoft Edge, the new inbuilt browser of Windows 10 would be soon getting an update for enabling the use of Adblock and Adblock plus extensions. According to the users, it is one of the missing features of the browser. Microsoft is working keenly for bringing their users back by providing most desirable features for their products.

Adblock and Adblock Plus are the web extensions which are from two different companies. But the functionality of the duo is quite similar. They are equipped with most powerful tools for blocking the ads. Chrome alone had 40 million users using Adblock whereas the number would increase when other browsers are taken into consideration.

Recently Opera had also launched their browsers for PC and mobile with inbuilt Adblock option. So to be in the race, the multinational Redmond-based company also started to work on the same. From March 2016, the firm had been testing features of extensions. The company is looking to enable users to free from Ads and feel the much smoother experience.

The question is how much the company would be successful in attracting the users to use EDGE instead of more powerful browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox. The successor of Internet Explorer interface was good and better than the other. According to the statistics until February, Edge holds a mere 3.9 percent of the overall browser market. It accounts only 8.8 percent of all Microsoft browsers in use.

The major drawbacks of the Microsoft browser are that it lacks the cross-platform ability to use the same browser both in IOS, Android mobiles. Many users prefer Chrome for the inclusion of this feature. Another limitation is that Edge cannot pin web applications to the taskbar and it can’t run apps like email, calendar, photos, music and other such apps in separate app windows.

Hopefully, Microsoft would update all the lacking features in EDGE shortly to regain the number one spot on the list of most used browsers. Presently the extensions are available only for the inside users of Windows 10. Soon the new features would be made available for all the users of the operating system.
