Amazon Now launched 2-hour Delivery Service in Delhi and Mumbai

Ecommerce Company Amazon.in has launched Amazon Now in the Delhi and Mumbai. With this ‘ Amazon Now ’ customers can shop over 5,000 everyday essentials products including fresh fruits vegetables as well as food items from local stores like Hypercity, Spar, Modern Bazaar, Easy Day, BigBazaar, SRS, and my247market.com

Amazon Company stated “the product will be delivered to their customer’s doorstep within two hours or in pre-scheduled time. Customers can download the Amazon Now app from the play store and enter their local pin code in shopping the products.”

Already they have started this program in Bangalore, and they got a good response from the customers, so they have taken the step to expand this project in Delhi and Mumbai cities.

The Amazon Now team will work from 10 am to 10 pm. After booking the order within 2 hours time, they will give the delivery. They are offering free delivery on products above Rs 350. They will charge Rs 29 for schedule delivery and Rs 49 for express delivery.

LMO Raids in Mumbai and Across Maharashtra State to Find Violations

LMO in a surprise move has conducted raids in Mumbai based popular movie theatres and malls. Not a surprise, but they have been booked for selling the products above (Maximum retail Price) MRP that is printed on the product.

In India it is common that almost very few products are sold as per MRP printed. Otherwise, it may be sometimes discounts or excess, but never the less not MRP. This is the prevailing situation in Indian market.

But according to the law it is clearly a violation of the consumer act prescribed in the Indian Constitution. To safeguard the consumer rights such laws have been framed. But to the maximum extent they are violated nationwide.

There is another practice by the sellers. Many products have double and even triple MRPs printed. And as usual the buyer is used to purchase them blindly. They are not even bothered to bring it to the notice of LMO. This is mainly because of the lack of knowledge among the consumers and buyers.

Coming back to the present scenario, around 19 outlets have been booked by the LMO authorities for the law violation. Mostly the food and beverage outlets and the movie theatres were booked for the illegal selling. Based on a compliant LMO conducted these raids.

Around 345 establishments across the Maharashtra state were suddenly checked and 134 of them were booked under Legal Metrology Commodities Act section 18 for various violations. 19 of them are alone from the capital city Mumbai. The manufacturing companies were also issued notices for the mal practices of dual MRP printing.

To be more elaborate on the cases booked against establishments - 24 cases of Dual MRPs, 65 cases for selling more than MRP and 45 cases were booked for other violations.

A chance is given by the government for the declarants to pay their taxes or penalties in two installments. This fiscal year the government will receive nearly Rs.14, 681.25 crore and the next half in the coming fiscal year.

Google to Open Cloud Region in Mumbai by 2017

Google is going to open new ‘Cloud Region’ in Mumbai, India. It will offer cloud platform services to enterprise customers and developers in India.

It is expected to launch the cloud region by 2017, in the lock region of India to help Google cloud platform services even faster for the Indian customers. The announcement was made at Horizon event in San Francisco. But the company didn’t disclose any financial details.

The business-to-business based cloud services are rebranded as Google cloud. With more than one billion end-users, Google Cloud has gained significant traction in India and also across the World. Its global customers’ already having Google Cloud Platform includes Snapchat Inc, Telus International, Pokemon Go and Evernote.

By setting up the local data centre within India also helps the company provide to a larger number of customers. Especially for the government or financial services that often have regulations to not permit the data outside the country.

Indian Navy on High Alert After Suspicious Men with Arms Found in Military Uniform

Western Naval Command Mumbai has issued a high alert across the Coast line after four people spotted moving suspiciously in military uniform on Thursday. The incident took place in Uran which is about 47kms from Mumbai and interestingly, school children reported the suspicious men.

Police have closed down the schools and carrying searches as the information is sensitive. Inside the story, the children of school SES have spotted some people with weapons in black camouflage uniform near the Uran Navy base. The children alerted the local police, and the people had hidden their faces which made the children suspect them

“Children of Uran education society spotted the suspicious men, after which the police were informed,” says, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dilip Sawant, Navi Mumbai. “The searches were on, and so far nothing had been found,” he added.
