To promote digital learning in the fields of science and technology government has decided to conduct the nationwide science talent search examination through a mobile application.  The test will be held through mobile app Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) on November 26. It would be the first test in the world to be conducted on an app with such larger volume.

Union minister of state for electronics Alphons Kannanthanam on launching the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) mobile app said that “91,000 students have registered (for national science talent examination) and we will be having examinations in 2078 centers across the country. For the first time in the world, we are going to have an app based examination with such a large number of people.”

To push E-learning among the young, bright and talented children central government is taking many initiatives. Mr. Alphons stated that “We want to change all that. We want students to use digital technology, to learn science, about India and famous people who have made science popular. Understand, analyze, use your brains to conclude. That is why we have this science talent examination across the country,

National Science Talent Search Exam Process

Students must register for the Nationwide science talent search examination conducted by the Vigyan Prasar Organisation via Mobile App. Registered candidates can attend the exam via VVM app or through the laptop and no need to go the exam center.The VVM app will be available on Google Play store and iOS platform.

The VVM mobile app will free other applications on laptop or mobile during the examination. Scientist Arvind C Ranade on explaining about the examination said that ” It will be conducted in two sections namely junior classes from class 6-8 and senior classes that is from 9-12 standards. The National Science talent search syllabus will be available online. Every student will be assessed based on class-based performance.

He said that the app would assess students knowledge & intelligence. “If a class 6 students answers question meant for class 8 students than that will be used for assessing his intelligence.

  • Winner - cash prize of Rs 10,000,
  • Runner up - cash prize of Rs 7,000
  • Second Runner up - cash prize of Rs 5,000

Cash Prizes for Nationwide Science Talent Search Exam Winners (National)

  • Winner - cash prize of Rs 25,000
  • Runner-up - cash prize of Rs 15,000
  • Second Runner-up - cash prize of Rs 10,000

In addition to the cash prizes,certificates and mementos will be given to National Science Talent Search Exam Winners at all levels.
