Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi Tops in Black Money Declaration under IDS

IDS details are furnished to public by the Indian union finance minister Arun Jaitley. As per Jaitley’s press conference, a total of 64,275 volunteer declarations have been made worth Rs. 65,250 crore. The date has ended by Sep 30th. He also stated that some of the disclosures are still under tabulation.

The income that will be generated from the declared undisclosed money would be Rs.29, 362.50 crore in the form of taxes and penalties.

A chance is given by the government for the declarants to pay their taxes or penalties in two installments. This fiscal year the government will receive nearly Rs.14, 681.25 crore and the next half in the coming fiscal year.

As per the IDS, by paying a tax and penalty of total 45% (30% tax + 7.5% penalty + 7.5% surcharge) of their undisclosed income, the black money holders can come out clean. Utilizing this many were expected, but only 15% of the black money holders came as volunteers and the 85% came due to the information and data collected by the Income Tax department. Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi cities topped the list of declerations.

Jaitley assured that International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) stated names in the Panama Papers as well as the HSBC list are also under the scanner. Around 250 references have been given to other countries and steps are being taken to investigate them too.

In 1997 a total tax of Rs.9,760 crore was collected with the introduction of Voluntary Disclosure of Income Scheme (VIDS). The finance minister P Chidambaram has announced the scheme.

Arun Jaitley also warned the undisclosed holders that a stringent action would be taken against them when caught. A total of 85% would be collected which constitutes 30% tax with an additional penalty of 50% from the hidden wealth.

Between the years 1951 to 1997, 10 amnesty schemes were announced to declare unaccounted money. They were misused mostly and did not fetch any fruitful results for the central government.

As far as the analysts think, this is the only third scheme that is successful in attaining the unaccounted money to a certain extent.

Amazon Launched The Pantry Services in Hyderabad

The world’s largest online retailer Amazon.in has announced the Amazon Pantry for customers in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Through this service, customers can shop for over 4,000 groceries, everyday essentials, and household products.

Customers can order the products through Amazon.in or also from the mobile app, and the delivery can be done the following day. Amazon also launched the premium subscription service, i.e., Amazon Prime in the month of July in India.

This premium subscription service comes with unlimited One-day and two-day deliveries with no minimum order size to the prime members.

The Amazon Pantry store also offers essentials including food, beverages, household supplies, health and beauty. It also provides monthly purchase basket like rice, dals, Atta and oil, etc. The delivery charges of Rs. 49 per box, but Amazon offers a promotional delivery charge of Rs. 20 per box as a launch offer. There is a free delivery service for prime members.

Budget Airway Carrier SpiceJet has launched Smart Check – In the facility that sends boarding passes to the user’s app. SpiceJet Smart Check In launched by Minister for Civil Aviation Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and SpiceJet Managing Director Ajay Singh at RGIA (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport), Hyderabad.

The feature Smart Check – In counter facility will soon expand in all other Airports’ which benefits mutually to clear the queue and reduce the check in counters. The Smart Check-in the facility is available to all SpiceJet customers who book their tickets through a mobile app. It is like a mobile check-in service.

World’s First touch enabled programmable T-Shirt with water-proof by Indian Start-up

Have anyone ever thought of a T-shirt, which can be customizable to our preference by connecting to a smartphone. Probably it’s a dream just to imagine it. But it is made in real by a recently started company in Telangana.

Broadcast Wearable’s, an Indian based start-up in the city of Hyderabad is launching world’s first App connected LED T-shirt. Advancing the technology, the smart wearable is made up of a cloth material which consists of LED panel and touch display. It can be On/Off by just touching it.

The Smart t-shirt can show texts, designs, logos and images on it which are loaded on the smartphone connected to it. A micro controller is used to display the information on the LED panel sourced from the mobile.

The front surface of the garment includes an LED panel which is about the size of an a4 paper. Concerning the user’s comfort, they used Surface Mounted Device SMD-LED with Flexible Printed Circuit Board. The Display panel includes a total of 792LEDs illuminating the front part.  A thin wire is connected between the front panel and 1500 mAh battery at the back.

The motive behind the design is to make user enjoy both comfort and technology at their will. The Flexible material used for this Programmable T-shirt is waterproof and therefore washable. To make it last longer without recharge, the company is looking for an even low power consuming LEDs throughout India.

Ayyappa Nagubandi, the founder of the start-up, stated that they would release an API for creating an ecosystem and thus by enabling others to use this technology for developing more products shortly. Being in the pre-production stage, they are eyeing to start the campaign for taking their product to the people, Investors. The final price details would also be revealed then at the Campaign itself.
