World’s biggest hack has happened on yahoo, about 1 billion users got affected by this hacking. Yahoo has discovered a 3-year-old security breach which enables a hacker to compromise more than 1 billion user accounts. By breaking the company’s own humiliating record for the biggest security breach
The digital heist was declared recently which has occurred in 2013, that breach affected at least 500 million users who have been most far-reaching hack until the last revelation
Security expert Avivah Litan of Gartner Inc said this incident is shocking. Both lapses have occurred during the reign of a Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. Earlier of this year, Yahoo Company plans to sell their company to Verizon Communications for $4.8 billion, a deal now threatened by the hacking revelations
Two hacks have happened on more than a billion accounts. The Sunnyvale, California blamed late 2014 on a hacker affiliated with an unidentified foreign government but said it has not been able to identify the source of the 2013 intrusion.
At present Yahoo have billion number of active users every month, in that some of them have multiple accounts. Now due to these attacks, accounts are affected.
These hackers have stolen the passwords in both attacks. Technically those passwords must be secure, they are scramble twice, once with an encryption and another by the technique called hashing. But hackers have cracked the security passwords and by assembling huge dictionaries of similarly scrambled phrases and matching them against stolen password databases.
Yahoo Company is requesting users to change their passwords immediately, users who are using the same password for online transaction please once check your account details and quickly change the security password.
