Volvo S90 2016 Launched In India

Volvo S90 is the most awaited model launched in India by Volvo India.  The price of this model starting from ₹ 53.5 lakh as per the ex-showroom, Delhi. This Swedish carmaker will give the tough competition for the high-end flagship sedan models like Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Jaguar XF. Although the release of this variant is late in the market, promising to be turned out with the competitive pricing.

The new Volvo S90 model is based on the company’s SPA platform that also underpins the XC90 SUV. The design architecture is with the multilink rear suspension layout, and the S90 is having the longer wheelbase than the S80 sedan. It replaces the company’s line-up, and the Volvo claims that S90 is the longest car in its class measuring 4963mm.

As per the terms of the design, the S90 2016, gets the Volvo’s bold new styling and debuted on XC90. The huge grille on the front takes the prominence, and it is complemented by the Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs.

S90 comes with the sharp looking bumper along with the horizontal LED fog lamps. The sharp lines in the exterior are extended to the side view of the car, while the tail lamps are merged with the boot lid.

Volvo S90 comes with three driving modes Eco, Comfort, and Sport. Apart from these driving modes, it has an independent air-suspension on the rear wheels. Volvo gives high importance to the Safety, and it included with complete safety package. Some of the safety measures Volvo considered are Run off-road protection, Lane Keeping Aid, whiplash protection, side impact protection and more.

The latest Volvo S90 is offered with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. Right now, it comes with the single D4 trim which can give out 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. This car’s motor is clubbed with the 8-speed automatic transmission.

The company is making plans to deliver the Volvo S90 in December this year. Volvo also mentioned it would release the more powerful variant sedan in the coming year. The petrol variant of this model has no plans to introduce by the company.
