The India’s largest automobile manufacturer, Tata Motors has entered in the list of sports car category with its sub-brand TAMO. It is meant to develop innovative and high-performance cars in the Indian market. The company has taken the covers off the new TAMO Racemo sports coupe at the 87th Geneva Motor Show 2017.
It is the 20th time the company has attended the European Geneva Motors Show 2017 and it is the first product showcased under the Tata’s new sub-brand TAMO. Going by the TAMO Racemo Features, the car comes with double-door sports coupe which resembles the high-speed sports car. It is a two-seater sports car and features a rear-mounted engine.
The TAMO Racemo powered by 1.2-litre Turbocharged Revotron Aluminium engine and also has 6-Speed AMT with paddle shift. The power output of the car is about 186bhp and also has 210 NM of peak torque. The company claims that the new Racemo coupe will do 0-100 kmph in just 6 seconds.

Tata TAMO Racemo is built on MOFlex Multi-Material Sandwich (MMS) structure technology, enabling in surface design and efficient large-scale part integration. The car is the first to use the latest technology in the country. The Racemo sports coupe comes with a ground clearance of 165nm which is important especially for the Indian road conditions.
Speaking about the unveil of the sports coupe, Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors said, “Racemo is the first innovation from TAMO and our emotional, unexpected leap to the future. From styling and the design to driver experience and technology, Racemo is an extension of customers’ personality, as part of the digital ecosystem and will break the ice with a radical new presence and the interest in the parent brand.”
It was powered by Microsoft, and the TAMO Racemo can connect with the technologies such as Cloud computing, Geo-spatial, Analytics and mapping. Through this, it increases the human-machine interface which is same used for Tesla cars manufactured with Microsoft Cloud Software. The company commenced the TAMO Racemo Price at Rs. 25 to 30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
