On a surprising note, the government is going to announce that the people can carry water bottles to malls and multiplexes, in a bid to avoid the dual MRP. They even declared that restricting anyone to carry water bottle is a violation of consumer rights.

“In Malls, they won’t allow the customers to carry their water bottles, and they sell the same water bottle at different prices. This is a pure violation of consumer rights, and with an aim to curb this act, we are taking necessary precautions,” shared Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader.

He stated that since the past few months, the government has been receiving many complaints from people mentioning that malls and multiplexes are charging Rs. 50 for a water bottle, which is usually available at Rs. 20. So, Khader has issued orders to crackdown on malls and multiplexes, where the bottles sold for more than MRP.
