On the occasion of governments Swachh Bharat campaign second anniversary, a short films competition on ‘Swachh Bharat’ will be held. National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) of India has invited entries for the Short Films Competition, and the winners will be declared on October 2nd Gandhi Jayanthi. A special felicitation program will be organised on that day.

The short film competition which will showcase inspiring stories and send a message to citizens about sanitation and its linkages with public health will be held by Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

“Awareness generation is an important objective of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan to bring about behavioural change in people regarding healthy sanitation practices. The competition aims to generate such awareness by involving people from different backgrounds, different regions and from different age groups,” a statement from the Ministry said.

According to the statement, the competition is open for all age groups, and the last date for the submission of the entries is September 10th. The duration of the short film must not exceed 3 minutes or  180 seconds in HD format. The short film can be made in any listed official languages of India. There is no entry fee for submission.

The best film will receive a cash prize of INR Ten (10) Lakhs and a certificate. Three films in the second best category will be awarded INR Five (5) Lakhs.
