Undoubtedly, the famous businessman John McAfee who set up the software-based company McAfee Associates worldwide is an influential figure in the industry and all his announcements, both online and offline, create a huge impact in terms of creating a buzz about the news.
Recently, McAfee expressed a keen interest in the crypto market and that can be clearly observed as per his social media announcements about various coins and ICOs.
The media companies that have been tracking McAfee’s move allegedly reported that he takes a huge amount of money from the emerging companies for endorsing and promoting the coins in his social media handles like Twitter. After a couple of months have passed by, it’s not a secret anymore since McAfee himself unleashed the mystery about the cryptocurrency featured updates publicly. He revealed that he charges a hefty amount of 1 lac USD per tweet. The revelation was announced by the Crypto Team of McAfee. The information about the same can be accessed here.
As per analysis, it has been observed that the coins backed by McAfee have seen a tremendous growth in terms of price hike of more than 100% with every single announcement in the official account of Twitter. Plenty of investors have invested millions of dollars in the ICOs as suggested by the software giant.
The company officials claimed – “Within the cryptocurrency industry, nothing can match the power of a McAfee tweet. Frequently, a single tweet has resulted in more than a million dollars of investment into an ICO, and multiple currencies have increased more than 100% in price from a single tweet.”
Their claim is right to an extent. When McAfee tweeted about Verge aka XVG, the infamous privacy coin, the coin’s price rose exponentially and became one of the most liked crypto coins in the industry.
Several media companies like Motherboard speculated the tweets published by him on other crypto coins and all of them saw a major hike in price after his announcements. Now that he has revealed how much he charges per tweet, it is clear that he possibly couldn’t find any potential in the coin and just did the announcements for obtaining short terms profits out of the investments.
Do you believe that McAfee possibly didn’t find any potential in the coins and promoted them just for his personal benefits? Or did he go ahead with a proper analysis before suggesting the coins in his Tweets? Let us know your thoughts about this!
