Sarahah is a UAE- based mobile application which is founded by Zain al-Abidin Tawfiq. The word Sarahah is an Arabic term which means Honesty. In an exclusive interview, Zain al-Abidin Tawfiq revealed some interesting facts. He is once part of the IT firm Wipro where he gained the programming skills. Zain recently hailed Indians saying that he bestows the success of the Sarahah app to those Indian techies who taught him programming.

Sarahah allows anonymous messaging which lets users send messages without revealing their identity. This feature makes Sarahah app to stand out from remaining applications available on the PlayStore. The application gained huge success with over 10 million downloads in Play store and had also become the top trending app on Apple’s App Store.

The idea of Sarahah app is simple – you create a Sarahah profile, which anyone can visit. Even without logging in, people can view your profile and leave messages, anonymously. If they have logged in, messages are still anonymous by default, but users can choose to tag their identity. On the receiver’s app, all the incoming messages show up in an inbox, and you can flag messages, delete them, or favourite them to find them easily later. Sarahah user can’t reply to the sender instead can share it anywhere on social platforms.

Due to its anonymous messaging, some users are misusing Sarahah for Cyber bullying. So the developers are also planning to improve the Privacy features. The app allows the users the profile from search results which will limit the audiences. You can also turn off access for the unauthorized user and even block them.

Several users are worried about revealing their identity because of the rumors that Sarahah details will be revealed. Commenting on this, Zain al-Abidin Tawfiq said, the app comes with Strict Privacy Policy, and there is no way to reveal the identity of the sender.

Sarahah is available on PlayStore, and people can download it directly from it. For iOS users, the app is available in Apple’s App store. One thing is for sure that the app has gained a massive following in the country, and Tawfiq will surely work to hold them enough for the long run.
