If you are a fan of Samsung, then here is some good news for you. Samsung has officially announced new smartphones for the upcoming year. Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+, which were only rumors till yesterday, have now officially been announced by the company. Both the smartphones borrow their design from the 2017 flagship, Galaxy S8 and also have the same infinity display in addition to a dual selfie camera setup.
Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ are also IP68-certified, dust- and water-resistant. This is one of the high-end offerings by Samsung. Both the smartphones are set to go on sale from January 2018, according to the officials. But, Samsung has not revealed the pricing of these smartphones as of now.
When it comes to features, they have some cool aspects to brag about. Regarding specifications, Galaxy A8 sports a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2220×1080 pixels, 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and Galaxy S8-like curved glass protection on top.
Its counterpart, A8+ features a 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with the same specifications. Both smartphones run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will be powered by octa-core processor. Both have eight cores clocked at 2.2GHz, while the rest six cores are at 1.6GHz. A8 comes equipped with a 4GB RAM, while A8+ comes in two RAM variants – a 4GB and a 6GB option.
The price of both the phones is likely to be lower than Samsung 8+ as now they are planning to launch something affordable in the market for the middle-class people in India.
Other companies are also gearing up for the New Year as they are trying to launch other mobile phones as well. Samsung would see a tough competition from MI, Micromax, and Vivo as well. Let’s see how the New Year turns out for these mobile companies.
