Punjab private institutes will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government for providing science education to government school students from class 9 to 12.
An official release said, representatives of private higher education institutes submitted a proposal to the technical education minister in this regard. According to the state Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, the private institutes are planning to improve science education at the ground levels.
Channi after meeting with representatives of Higher Technical Education Institutes said, it is necessary for the students to have knowledge of the science subjects at school level. He also said there is a joint meeting next week with Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary, technical education minister and representatives of all the associations of the private institutes to give a practical shape to this proposal.
The Technical Minister said as per the proposal, private institutes would strengthen infrastructure of science labs and provide support in supplying items for Science practicals. And private institutes also proposed to provide their labs for one day in a week to the students of government schools.
Along with this, private schools also offered to run free training courses for the science teachers of the government schools.
