Streaming media company Plex today inaugurated their free Live TV feature, which will allow Plex users to access and view 80+ live TV channels free of cost and without any hardware needed.

Along with live television selections, Plex also gives podcasts, news clips, web shows, music access, and free on-demand movies and TV shows with partnerships with various media companies, also it works with personal media.

Plex’s recent Live TV feature is accessible on Apple TV and iOS devices, Amazon Fire, smart TVs, Roku, Android devices, as well as the web.

Plex is one of the costliest media players and platforms available in the market, but its functionality grew further this week with the company commencing a free live TV service with 80+ channels that will be accessible in 220+ countries. This live streaming joins the 14,000 documentaries, free movies, and TV shows already accessible through Plex on-demand, and encompasses a wide range of genres, from news to sports to cartoons.

As Plex remarks on its blog, it was formerly only possible to view local channels live with Plex with an antenna, a tuner, and Plex Pass, however, now one can add 80+ streaming channels right on to your lineup without any additional hardware. In case you want to dig into the live TV selection, go to a new category called “Live TV On Plex” in the app’s sidebar.
