Esteemed three wheeler manufacturer Piaggio about to launch its new vehicle in the scooter segment, Aprilia SR 150 to hit the roads this August. The company is planning to stamp their mark in India, which is also one of the biggest scooter trade centres in the world. Aprilia will be sold at an introductory price of Rs.65000 (on road Pune).

SR 150 is the first of Aprilia’s own brand production in the country. Designed and engineered in Italy, the scooter will be manufactured in India at Piaggio’s plant Baramati, Maharashtra.  Piaggio’s another collaboration Vespa witnessed a grown of 20% in the first half of 2016 compared to last year. Targeting the urban youth, Aprilia’s design ensure the feel of a sports bike without losing the ease of a scooter. Aprilia SR150 powered with 154.4cc air cooled engine with three value carburettor. It’s equipped with a 220mm disc in the front and drum which performs a brilliant break duty. 14-inch black alloy wheels similar to Aprilia sports bikes in motoGP circuits never let the sport look go down.

Piaggio group’s collaboration with Ape is a huge success among three wheeler cargo carriers. “After the success of the Ape and the positioning of the Vespa in the premium segment of the Indian market, we are further strengthening our offering in the subcontinent with the entry of Aprilia’s SR 150 scooter,” said Piaggio Group Chairman and CEO, Roberto Colaninno. “This vehicle is an excellent expression of the Noale manufacturer’s sports expertise and offers technology and style superior to those of its direct competitors in the segment,” he said.

Fortunately, SR 150 shares the same engine of Vespa, which may not seem unique. But it stood up with its sporty look and fascia which mainly provide the scooter with a trendy look. The scooter is available in black and white colours and bookings for Aprilia is available soon across the dealer chain in India.
