According to a report by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) majority of people who applied for H1B Visa are Indians. The USCIS report says, over 21 lakh Indians applied for H-1B’s Visa in the last 11 years, and Most of them are Degree and Post Graduate students.

On an average, the Monthly salary of these people is only $ 92,317. The research has been carried on applicants who applied for H1B Visa’s from the year 2007 June to 2017 June.The officials from USCIS said, in these 11 years more than 34 Lakh candidates have applied for H-1B Visa. Out of 34 Lakh people, 21 lakh people are Indians which is huge.

However, USCIS did not disclose the details on how many Visas assigned to each country. After India, China becomes the second country 296,313 H-1B applications followed by the Philippines with 85,918 applicants, South Korea 77,359, and Canada 68,228.

The candidates who applied for H-1B Visa were in the age group of 25 to 34 years. The majority of the people came from Computer related professions, Architecture, Engineering (318,670), Education (244,000), Medicine (185,000) and Administrative specialization (245,000).

People above 65 years are given H1B Visa post their retirement. This year alone 122 H-1B visas have been allotted to those above 65+ age.Based on few sources, around 70 to 80% of the foreign workers are imported from India every year.
