Honda Accord in India was discontinued in 2013 due to its slow sales. Now the car launched in India is the 9th generation model. Way back in 2001, the first-generation Accord sedan model was launched in India.
The all-new Honda Accord Hybrid has a power-train of CBU (completely built unit) model. Though a bit costly, the technology and the features assigned to it’s justify the price tag.
Honda Accord hybrid engine specification is a combination of conventional 2.0-litre and a 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated internal combustion. It comes with a 1.3 Kilowatt/h lithium-ion battery electric motor. This engine is mated with an e-CVT technology.
The vehicle is released in Petrol engine version. It produces a 145bhp and 175Nm of maximum torque. The maximum output is 184bhp @ 315Nm maximum torque. However, under tested conditions the company has disclosed the power of electric motor combined output at 212bhp.
The edgy external design has a latest design which embodies big ‘H’. The large chrome and black grille, LED headlights and LED fog-lamps, daytime running lamps and a massive side profile. A sporty front bumper with gloss black element in the centre made the exterior profile rich.
A well-crafted back bumper, LED tail-lamps, and built-in boot spoiler makes it look beautiful and big in the segment. The subtle blue accents around the front headlamps and tail-lamps are a new look for the model.
An 18-inch two-toned diamond cut wheels provide a new look while driving the car.
Internally, the Hybrid car provides two-stage climate control, cruise control, touch screen infotainment system (consists of both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto play support system), electrically adjustable front seats, sun-roof and leather upholstery.
Inside, 2 central screens are placed to display the infotainment system content on one and on the other to display engine transmission modes.
Safety and security features like passenger side camera, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD are provided for the Honda Accord Hybrid car.
The Honda Accord hybrid is tagged with a price of Rs. 37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), 40.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and Rs. 40.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). The vehicle is available in four colors such as White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic and Modern Steel Metallic.
It is observed that the newly launched Honda Accord Hybrid car is a bit Rs. 6 lakh high than its closest competitor, Toyota Camry Hybrid.
