Microsoft has paused its thoughts of blending virtual reality with Xbox. In the year 2017, the company declared the news of having great interest for presenting mixed reality to Xbox. But now, in the year 2018, Microsoft is stepping back from the decision, which it previously made. The view of making Mixed Reality is no more a priority. Applying the same idea on personal computers, Microsoft aims at delivering high quality experiences to its customers as far as personal computer systems are concerned.
“Because of the opportunity with Windows Mixed Reality, and because we believe the user experience will be best on PC right now, that is where our focus is. We have nothing to share about MR for console at this time”, as stated by Microsoft.
It is the opinion of Nicholas, the Chief Marketing Officer of the company that the mixed reality concept would work better on PC platforms than Xbox consoles. A lot of imaginations, visualizations and expectations were already built even before the product hit the grounds of reality. The customers were eagerly waiting to welcome the Virtual Reality-enabled gaming strategies and applications. But, it is equally true that the latest update of validating the concept to computer systems is now let into the market.
Few other companies like Sony contesting in the race with Microsoft have launched their high quality VR headsets, which can be used for PS4 consoles. Sony offers the desired MR experience to the gaming lovers. On that note, we learn that Microsoft is actively engaging itself to offer features of virtual reality on personal computers. Thus, the same attempts to recreate the trend of using PCs for trendy gaming experiences.
The issue also opens the doors for a couple of insecurities to Microsoft as the young gaming aspirants are waiting with enthusiasm to use virtual reality-based Xbox and headsets. Beyond all the structuring and planning made, the current situation may turn into an opportunity for any other brand to satisfy the thirst of the end users.
