Bengaluru Football Club demolished Goa Football Club in a nail-biting final. Well, the boys were motivated well and they were chasing their goal constantly for the beginning of the league. Sunil Chetri, Captain of Bangalore Football Club was very keen in knowing the attributes of his players. Defender Rahul Bheke provided those winning streaks in the dying minutes of extra time and prevented the match from going to a penalty shootout.
Well, Rahul Bheke scored a blinder in the second half and the scoreboard board moved to 1-0, to lift their first Indian Super League (ISL) title, in Mumbai on Sunday. Local boy Rahul headed in form a Dimas Delgado corner in the 118th minute after both teams were locked goalless in regulation time at the Mumbai Football Arena. This is Bengaluru FC’s sixth trophy. “ We feel on top of the world,” skipper Sunil Chetri said after the match.
“We topped the league table like last year. We lost the final that time, but this year’s story is different. We knew our power was in attack. Had to work hard in defence as they attacked very well,” striker Miku said.
Bengaluru FC had a good defense attack when you compare it with the Goa FC. Sunil Chetri and Nishu Kumar complemented each other well in the middle. Later, Miku joined the party. Bengaluru had the better of the early exchanges as the trio of Miku, Chethri and Udanta Singh found joy in the attacking. After the Second half of the game, Goa FC slowly took control of the game and started to dominate possession.
Goa was short of a player in the 105th minute when Ahmed Jahouh retaliated to a challenge by miku. The midfielder was given a yellow card and he had to take a long walk to his Dug-out.
