Storm at Tech Giant Google over engineer’s anti-diversity manifesto. Engineers in the Google expressed their view on the new ‘Anti-diversity manifesto’ authored by a senior executive officer in the company. The Manifesto got leaked by a famous website called Gizmodo, which deals with economic or political theory. Soon the memo circulated internally at Google and became viral.

The manifesto written by the officer represents the gender inequality regarding work. He states that gender and racial diversity should not be encouraged. At the same time by ‘ideological diversity’ says that technical work needs to be assigned to men rather than giving importance to women.

The official feels that the way of thinking differs due to biological term. He tries to highlight the point that racism should be avoided and also the tech work should be assigned to men who would make a difference because of biological phrases.

Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber’ leaked before getting approved and received criticism from the co employees. The engineers responded through tweeter by slamming his way of representing the gender discrimination.

Google is a huge organization, such kind of action from an employee representing gender inequality in the Anti-diversity manifesto was not expected. That leak of manifesto created a buzz in public too. Apart from this, the response of Google engineers and other officials prove that Google doesn’t encourage gender discrimination, Racism, and sexism.

Danielle Brown, Google’s new Vice President of Diversity, Integrity, and Governance, spoke on the manifesto that created the issue in the views of Google employees. In response to that, she gave memo stating ”I value diversity and inclusion, am not denying that sexism exists, and don’t endorse using stereotypes. When addressing the gap in representation in the population, we need to look at population level differences in distributions.”

She also added “If we can’t have an honest discussion about this, then we can never truly solve the problem. Psychological safety is built on mutual respect and acceptance, but unfortunately, our culture of shaming and misrepresentation is disrespectful and unaccepting of anyone outside its echo chamber.”

By not encouraging the argument she said that the manifesto not yet approved, so that will not make a difference in the work environment. Everybody has their point of view that can be presented, but sometimes it is concerned with the respect and equality issues.
