Donald Trump recently tweeted that he is going to announce the year’s most corrupt and dishonest media awards on January 8. On late Sunday afternoon, he tweeted about his plans of postponing the fake awards show from January 8 to January 17
Stephen Colbert addressed the audience saying – “Personally I’m excited for the most dishonest and corrupt media awards of the year — or, as we call ‘em in the biz, The Fakies — because nothing gives you more credibility than Donald Trump calling you a liar,” and continued, “And I, of course, don’t want to get snubbed. That’s why tonight, and this is true, I have placed a billboard in Times Square — [imitating Trump] ‘the failing New York Times Square’ — and purchased a full-page ad on my Twitter feed with a ‘for your consideration’ ad.”
The hosts had funny proceedings. The pseudo anchor said thanks to Jimmy and continued to have many people to acknowledge. He thanked all the fake news writers and the special effects team. He said he would importantly thank Trump for the trophy that had a child’s fist showing the middle finger.
A day later, hosts like Stephen Colbert, Trevon Noah, and Samantha Bee advertised themselves as the potential winners. Colbert asked to be considered for Fakest Dishonesty, Dishonest Corruption and Smallest Button.
Colbert expressed his eagerness to Trump saying he was personally excited for his ‘Dishonest and Corrupt Media Awards’. He said he would call them in the business as Fakies. The host said he would be hoping to be nominated in all the categories.
The Daily Show tweeted with a full page ad in which it addressed President Donald Trump to read page A7.
