Soon we can see pink buses in the Kerala state. Kerala RTC has taken a decision to introduce bus facility for only women, so they are coming with the concept of KSRTC pink buses

First of all, they planned to introduce two pink color buses in the city of Thiruvananthapuram. In those buses, only women conductors will provide service for the lady passengers. Later on, they will introduce this system in Kochi also.

KSRTC MD, Raja Manickam said “ At Beginning we are introducing two pink buses in the city of Thiruvananthapuram, later on according to the passengers response we will add more buses in all cities of Kerala.

In our society there is no security for women, daily traveling for work and returning to home is the big task for women, especially in buses they don’t have security. In peak hours, if the bus is overcrowded it is tough for girls to stand in between the people. So by considering all measures Kerala govt has taken decision to introduce SHE Buses.

Govt declared Rs 20 lakhs for buses as a capital investment, they are also going to recruit two drivers and two conductors for each bus. Only women conductors will hire for this KSRTC pink buses.

The Urban Development Ministry had sent request letters to State government to set apart a few buses allotted under the project Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission which has also known as JNNURM as women-only buses. By following this rule, KSRTC has introduced these buses in Aroor and kakkanad route which is always busy.

They are also planning to introduce night buses soon. The sales girls who are working at the textile shop are returning to the home at late night, so for them, they are going to introduce night buses which are very safe and secure.We have to appreciate the Kerala government for taking a step regarding women security.
