Guinness World Records in Organ Donation

Awareness should be created among the people about organ donation, says Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad. On the Occasion of his 70th birthday, this programme was organised and many people have enrolled their name to donate their organs after death.

As many as 11,987 people had participated in enrolling their name by giving consent letter to donate their organs after death in just 60 minutes. The members of Guinness Book of World Records also attended the event held on Tuesday.

People from Sattenapalli, Narasaraopet and other areas had attended this event to give their consent. NTR Health Science Vice-Chancellor, Dr Ravi Raju and JNTU Vice- Chancellor V V S Kumar were present in this programme.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, “Organ donation will make the people live even after their death. Many people should come forward to donate their organs. In India, many have died so far due to organ failure and it happened due to lack of awareness about organ donation. Government should take measures to make popular this campaign.”

Last year in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, as many as 6900 people have signed for organ donation at a time and set a Guinness book of world record. So, to break this record, Siva Prasad made more than 10,000 people voluntarily sign on organ donation papers.
