Kaspersky free antivirus protection: Russian based Kaspersky Labs has announced the free antivirus protection without any charge. As of now, the Kaspersky free antivirus has been rolled out in the US and China. The Global launch of the free Antivirus software is scheduled for September, which rest of the countries including India will get by then.
The free version Kaspersky antivirus provides basic protection for email, web browsing, automatic updates, and self-defense and few more. However, the Kaspersky free version will not offer all the features of the paid version. Users get extra features like parental control, online payment protection, and secure connection to a paid product.

“There are a lot of users who can’t afford $50 for premium antivirus protection; therefore, they install traditional freebies (which have more holes than Swiss cheese for malware to slip through) or they even rely on Windows Defender (ye gods!)”, CEO Eugene Kaspersky wrote.
The company is working on the free version antivirus software since a year and a half. Now, the launch falls on the 20th anniversary of the Kaspersky labs.

“An increase in the number of installations of Kaspersky Free will positively affect the quality of protection of all users since the big-data-bases will have more numbers to work with to better hone the machine learning”, the blog continues.
Reports state that Kaspersky free antivirus launched at the time when US government removed the Russian product from the list of approved antivirus software’s used at government agencies. Last month, Kaspersky filed an antitrust law suit against Microsoft for disabling its antivirus software over competitors on Windows 10 platform.
