Veteran filmmake kalatapasvi Kasinadhuni Vishwanath has finally achieved the 48th Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2016 by the Government of India. Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has approved the recommendations given by the Dadasaheb Phalke Panel committee members.
The award to gives to those who given an outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian Cinema. Along with Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) and Rs. 10 lakhs cash, will be given to the award winners. This award presented to the winners by Pranab Mukherjee, President of India on May 3 at Vigyan Bhawan.

Since 1965, K Vishwanath has directed fifty films, and he is well known for his unique making of movies. His film Swathi Muthyam was the official entry from India to 59th Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Film Category nominations. So far, he has won 5 National awards, 20 Nandi awards, and Padmashri from Government in 1992. Each of his films gives a social message. He was born at Gudivadain Andhra Pradesh in 1930. His films Shankarabarana, Sirivennela are the India’s most memorable classics. They were appreciated people from various places.
