Summary: Rajasthan Royals scored a mammoth 217 in 20 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets with Sanju Samson knocking a blistering 92 runs off just 45 balls. Chris Woakes and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each for RCB. In response, Royal Challengers Bangalore also batted well with everyone contributing but they could only reach a total of 198 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Match number 11 of 2018 saw two teams, RR and RCB coming on the ground to fight fiercely and ensure their next victory. But despite playing on the home ground, Royal Challengers Bangalore could not make it their day.
Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to field. Sanju Samson of RR went on a blasting spree hitting 10 sixes and 2 fours to reach a personal score of 92 runs and remained unbeaten. Ajinkya Rahane scored 36 runs off 20 balls.
In response, Kohli’s team also did a good job of reaching the total of 198 runs but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. The two leading run scorers, Virat Kohli (57 off 30 balls) and Mandeep Singh (47 off 25 balls), did try to upset Rajasthan Royals but thanks to more than 35 runs given away in last 8 balls of RCB, the chasing side could not match the huge total.
At the end it was Samson’s sixathon that Virat and Co couldn’t match up to and ended up being on the losing side despite batting consistently in the second inning.
At present Rajasthan Royals stand at number 4 and Royal Challengers Bangalore are at number 6. RCB surely have to improve a lot of things in coming matches to ensure they climb up to the upper half of the points table. RR, on the other hand, will do everything in their capability to go higher and perform better after getting pumped up from their last win.
