Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) examinations are commencing from June 1 and ends on June 21, 2017. For the first time, this university has done away with paper admit card for term-end examination. Candidates have to download the IGNOU Hall ticket from the official website of the university and visit the examination venues with student I-card.
IGNOU is trying to set a record to complete the examinations activities in 18 days. Kendriya Vidyalays are the exam centres. The total examination centres are 1034 including 100 centres in Jail for jail inmates and 23 overseas centres.
IGNOU media consultant Sheffali Narang said, “As a significant step towards digitisation, the process of examination form submission has been made completely online and the university has also discontinued paper-based hall tickets. Students can download admit cards from the university website and report to the examination centres with their I-cards. The university has also sent SMSes to the students, informing them about their examination and hall tickets.”
6.2 lakh students are going to appeared in the exams of morning session (10 AM to 1PM) and evening session (2 PM to 5P PM). A press reports that the university is managing at an average of over 20 lakhs presence during the entire examination period.
University is appointing the special team officer in the examination centres for effective monitoring of the examinations and to avoid cheating. University also appointed abservers at the examination venues during the examination period.
