Honda Cliq Scooter

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India pvt Limited have unveiled its new addition to its scooter lineup in India. Honda Cliq, a new 110 cc scooter launched in India at Rs. 42,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Honda claims that this rugged automatic scooter comes with additional value of comfort and convenience for utilitarian customers.

Honda Cliq equipped with a special block pattern tyres with deep grooves for better control and grip on road in all weather conditions. The Japanese maker announced that the scooter will be available in four color options and will be rolled out in a phased manner starting from Rajasthan. The production of the new scooter from honda will takes place at company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.

Honda Cliq is powered by 110 cc engine, the same motor seen in Activa with 8 bhp of power. But this two-wheeler comes with a rugged look which provides you a distinctive off-road feel. The scooter weighs 8kgs less than the Honda Activa. Honda Cliq resembles the Navi and does offers spacious footboard, large under-seat storage with 14 litres of space and optional rear carrier.

“Six out of 10 two wheelers sold in India belong to 100-110cc segment. Within this segment, automatic scooters have witnessed tremendous growth and now count for almost half of the total size. With the highly increasing demand and varied customer needs, this segment is poised to sub segmentation.” says, Minoru Kato, President and CEO, HMSI.

Discussing further, new Honda Cliq drives power from the 110 cc single-cylinder BS-IV engine which produces produce 8 bhp tuned with Honda Eco Technology (HET). Also, it carried the typical Honda gestures like Combi-Braking System (CBS) and maintenance free battery.

Honda says that the low seat height provides a great riding posture for both male and female riders. Other options like mobile charger and tubeless tyres offers the best convenience. It is believed that the vehicle will be competing with the likes of TVS Scooty Zest in the segment.
