The National College Football Championship began at 8 pm on Monday. After days of practice and performances, the Alabama Crimson and Georgia Bulldogs met for the title game.
The Georgia Transportation department stated that it was more than a football game for them. The Atlanta Police ensured high-end security measures at all the check-points as U.S President Donald Trump was to attend the Title Game.
Atlanta police suggested fans to use Gates 2, 3 and 4 for quick entry into the Mercedes-Benz stadium. Also, the media was allowed into the stadium since morning 11 a.m.
Alabama Alumni’s rode bus from Tuscaloosa to Mercedes-Benz stadium, and they expressed their confidence about their team’s victory.
On the other hand, few people were not happy with President Trump’s arrival to the match. Just before Trump’s arrival, the security had shut down Gate No. 1. Frustrated with this behaviour of security, the fans started the protest against security officers and Georgia Police. They pushed the security roughly 20 yards.
To control the crowd, the security team used metal barricades, and few people were given mixed messages on whether they can stay or go in.
A group of protesters unrolled the anti-Trump banners stating “Make America great again or build the wall”.
Tagovailoa entered the game at halftime and threw 3 touchdown passes and gave the team its 5th National Championship since 2009.
UGA alumnus who came to watch the Title game were devastated. They said that it was very sad to lose the match in such a brutal manner, but they are hoping to get good results in the future.
