Google Play Music launched in India last year allows customers to buy and download millions of tracks starting at just Rs.15. However, Google Play Music All Access wasn’t launched back then. This new music subscription service from Google costs around $9.99 in the U.S.
Now, after six months of its launch, Music All Access is rolled out to India. Interestingly, Google plays charges just Rs. 89 per month and you get unlimited access to a vast catalog of Google Play. Google is offering free 30 days trial and then after it starts charging for service.
Google play Music doesn’t seem to limit its catalog in India. Besides Bollywood artists, Play Music offers streaming of Metallica to folk metal bands like Eluveitie and mainstream acts like Ed Sheeran. Surprisingly, the service offers most music on Spotify which costs nearly 10 times higher than this service
Google Play music all access is going after Apple and established players like Saavn. Apple music is now live in India over a year, and Android users are using it as well. As Android user base is about 97 percent in India, it will be easy for Google to market this music app.
The service works both on Android and web and allows you to download music for offline listening. The price of subscription starts at as low as Rs. 89 per month which is acceptable in a market like India.
