In recent days, cycling is going to be the passion for many people in the major cities. Many people are showing interest to ride bicycles in the major cities to keep their body fit and also reduce pollution.
However, India-based cycle manufacturer Hulikkal has recently launched eco-friendly electric cycles powered by the lithium-ion battery at an event in Mangalore. These are the India’s first battery powered e-bikes.
The event was initiated by Mangalore City South MLA JR Lobo at Hamsmart on December 10. The latest e-bikes are designed with the latest technology and also have many features. The electric cycle has options like automatic driving and pedaling.
These Hulikkal Electric Cycles can travel up to 30 km on a full charge, and it takes nearly 90 minutes for complete charging. The cycle runs at the cost of 20 Paise per kilometre, and it has approved by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune.
The e-cycle battery life is up to 30,000 km, and it can last up to 5 years. During the launch event, Mangalore City South MLA Lobo said, “The thought of beginning e-cycles is significant one. We will appreciate Hulikkal cycles company to introduce E-cycles for reducing pollution. With the launch of electric cycles, Mangalore city is going to be pollution free and educational and institutional areas, Industrial and business establishments, Large residential layouts, etc.The new battery powered electric cycles are very useful for old people who can’t pedal much and also useful for youngsters to keep their body fit and slim.” The price of the Hulikkal Electric Cycle is a little bit expensive. Yes, the e-cycle costs about Rs 35000 but may give you more things.
These e-bikes will be available in six different models at Rs 34,900 excluding accessories. The accessories like seat cover, six gears set up, rare disk brake, etc. will take the extra cost. The standard features include front disc brake, rear V-brakes, front and back double wall alloy rims, LED headlamp with the electric horn.
The 250 watt/hr lithium-ion battery fitted with the cycle. The cycle can travel with a maximum speed of 25 km/hr. No registration and license required for these e-cycles.
