Now no need to carry passport or express gate cards at the airport. The smartphones replace the use of passports with the new smart scheme launched in Dubai International Airport.
The Emirates Smart Wallet is meant to further streamline travel movement across the Dubai International Airport and is consider as the first of its kind in the world, said a media report.
This latest scheme was launched at the airport’s departure terminal by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai’s Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Head of Dubai’s Naturalisation and Residency Department.
This scheme’s first phase incorporates Emirates ID and passport information, traveler personal data as well as the e-gate card data, and it is the first step for a large scale projects to reduce travel clearing procedure to the minimum, WAM added.
Emirates had launched a “Together” initiative in collaboration with key partners in a bid to improve the experience of traveling using its Dubai hub.
The initiative is being run by Dubai Police, Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) and Dubai Airports with the aim to improve traveler experience at the Dubai International airport hub. It is focusing on innovative and practical solutions which based on Smart, Speed, Saving, Service, Safety, Security—“6S”.
