Hold on, dear Sopranos’ fans because the creators are back with yet another interesting film and this time it is supposedly the prequel to the famous movie “The Sopranos”. The famous series ran for six seasons in HBO back in 2007. After 10 years, the series is one of the most watched TV series, which is loved by children and adult alike.
The famous film production house New Line has already confirmed their association with the creators David Chase and Lawrence Konners for the prequel film, which is titled “The Many Saints of Newark”. However, the director is yet to be finalized for the film. It is a daunting task for the creators since they wish to select the one who will actually direct the film the way they have visualized. Bringing one of America’s popular and loved crime families in pictures would be interesting to witness.
The movie is set back in the 1960s when the riots were happening in Newark, New Jersey. The film deals with the war, which was happening between goons of African-Americans and Italians. Although the story plot is still unclear, the iconic characters from the famous movie such as younger versions of Tony Soprano’s parents are rumored to be a part of this film. Tony’s uncle Junior is also rumored to be roped in for this film. Given the chances, Chase would be best suited for directing the film, although he is said to be still screening the directors appropriate for directing the film.
As rumors have it, few directors are already on the production house’s list for directing the future-hit film. Famous directors like Tim Van Patten, Michelle MacLaren, Bart Layton, Mimi Leder, Taylor Sheridan, Jeremy Saulnier, Alan Taylor, Asif Kapadia, and Jonas Carpignano who have directed plenty of successful movies and TV series are supposedly the best contenders for directing this film.
