Well the veteran, MS Dhoni had a tough time with his back. He had a stiff back and was not fit enough to play the match. It was a great show by the Sunrisers Hyderabad last night. It was once again Johnny-Warner show. Warner and Johnny Bairstow scored 50 and 61 runs respectively. It was the lowest total for the Sunrisers Hyderabad to chase. Without Mahendra Singh Dhoni it was challenging for the stand-in skipper Suresh Raina to handle things on the field.
The pitch was totally a batting friendly pitch and lot to expect with the bat. Faf Du Plessis and Shane Watson started off very well after the 4th over. Bhuvenshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmad complimented each other well with the new ball and they ended up giving reasonable runs off their first spell. Stand in captain Raina couldn’t take his game deep and the poor form continued for Kedar Jadhav and Sam Billings. Rashid Khan was absolutely brilliant with the ball. He picked Jadhav and Raina with his wrong ones.
Since the asking-rate was not more than 6.5, it was easily gettable for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. There were off to a great start and they had wickets in hand to chase the target. Despite the circumstances, Imran Tahir had a top-quality spell in the middle. He was popularly called as “Parashakthi Express” by the fans as he starts running when he picks up the wicket. He did the same last night when he conquered well set Kane Williamson and Vijay Shankar. Well, I feel that Shardul Takhur needs to assess the pitch well before he implements his thoughts. His vague line and length costed the team badly. Karn Sharma, the leggie had a tough time with the ball. He was hammered 15+ runs in his first over. He considered 2 sixers and a boundary. The momentum was totally lost for the kings. Hence, it was a great learning for the CSK and it seems MSD is going to be back on 21st April.
