The Delhi University on Monday clarified that the University would conduct the entrance exams for B.Com courses from next academic year. Currently, it holds entrance tests for its post-graduation and professional courses only, but the admissions to Undergraduate courses are prepared based on the Class XII marks.

The Convener of Admission Committee of Delhi University, Manoj Khanna said, “The University is captivating all the investors including college principals in self-assurance and look up them. If we are successful in organizing this race for commerce stream, one-third of the student population will be accommodated.”

Manoj Khanna also mentioned that the University is travel around to tie-up with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in this trial project of the leading university of the country. We are discovering the possibilities of a tie-up with CBSE that conducts all India-level exams, in this regard, but, we are not in hurry mood, and we won’t take any wrong steps that could lead to problems for the students.

Delhi University is also measuring its capability like how to strengthen the infrastructure for admissions and preparations of entrance tests, with prominence on evolving a “Student-friendly” admission system, said, Khanna.

This yea, the University conducted the entrance exams for admissions at six centers across the country like Bengaluru, Nagpur, Delhi, Jammu, Varanasi, and Kolkata. Earlier, in Delhi, only the exams were conducted.

Ever since the admissions for the academic session 2016-17 came to an end, the University is aiming at restoring its admission process of more than 75 colleges by conducting a single entrance test. The conventional procedure of the university where students who had scored high percentage, was not respected as the low scores did not get their preferred courses. This is happened because of lakhs of students across the country apply for admissions in the DU.
