The latest update of Apple is here to protect the privacy of all its users. The smartphone manufacturing giant has launched a new safety feature for its 2020 iPad Pro to ensure that the microphone is disabled for the hardware when it is closed. The feature is considered to make it tough for the eavesdroppers to gain access to the user’s data.

Apple is well-known for its security features and now that we see the new update, we can continue trusting the company for its security.

Talking about the recently launched 2020 iPad Pro, it has all the features already installed.

The changelog simply mentions that the mic will be disabled when the iPad’s lid is closed and a message says it improves the security of the iPad. There is no further bullet-wise description of the update yet. But it will be available for all the 2020 iPad Pro with MFI cases only.

Well, the update is not that new,;it was already launched in 2018 for MacBook models that had T2 chip integrated.

Apple Insider reported, “iPad‌ models beginning in 2020 also feature the hardware microphone disconnect. When an MFI compliant case (including those sold by Apple) is attached to the ‌iPad‌ and closed, the microphone is disconnected in hardware, preventing microphone audio data being made available to any software—even with root or kernel privileges in iPadOS or in case the firmware is compromised.”

This model is so advanced that it will restrict eavesdroppers from gaining access to any of the audio data and will completely disable data connection but will still allow the user to charge their phone through wired connections. There are other privacy updates lined up for the new Apple devices, which are to be out soon.

Apple has new updates for all its devices. Last month, we saw that the iPad Pro witnessed few changes from a screen size of 11-inch to 12.9-inch with the addition of a 12MP camera and AR experience.

Well, the new updates must have disappointed the already existing users of iPad Pro. But, the update was quick to gain eyeballs to the newly launched 2020 iPad Pro from all the privacy-conscious users.
