E-Commerce giants are dangling for the top spot during the festival season sales in India. Now, Amazon has joined the competition conflict for grabbing the sales in this Great Indian Festival season starting from October 2nd to 6th.
With the name Great Indian Festival, Amazon has now getting ready to challenge Flipkart’s Big Billion Days and Snapdeal’s Unbox Diwali Sale. Amazon’s Great Indian Festival will start on October 1st, 2016 itself a day ahead of its competitors.
The 5-day sale will feature huge discounts within the limit of the recently announced guideline of DIPP. Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), an authority set up by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, India has issued some guidelines regarding the percentage of discounts offered by the online shopping sites. Hence, the competition among the e-commerce companies deepened.
Amazon India Vice President and country head, Mr. Amit Agarwal has expressed his view regarding the commitment and work with their partners, to make the festival season sale the biggest event to happen.
One of the most challenging aspects for the online shopping companies is their logistics. The delivery on time is one of the most significant hurdles to overcome. All the companies pooled up their resources and invested more, so as to make the deliveries on time.
In keeping the view of heavy demand, the delivery system is being planned well by all the e-commerce major companies. Free delivery and delivery on time are the prime factors to gain the attention and satisfaction from the customer side.
Hence logistics are chosen to meet the demand and supply chain of this festival season. Every year, Diwali sales form a major part of their profit-making with sales-boosting discounts and offers. This major festival has a heavy impact on business grabbing for the companies.
A strong sentiment has a role to play as one of the important factors in doing so. Gold, electronics, and home decors are the major segments constitute the sales. Amazon has also offered competitive discounts in all the categories when compared to its competitors.
