AirTel, the leader in Indian Private Telecom sector presently tacking with the Reliance Jio offers challenge. To combat, from the time of Jio launch, AirTel has announced many offers to its existing customers.

Various announcements have been announced in the last couple of weeks especially in order to protect the existing user from rifting off.

The latest announcement is one of such steps. 2GB data for 3G/4G network users is offered at Rs.153 for 28 days. Though this is no where matching to Reliance Jio data offers, on the company’s side it is one of the highest offers that is made to the users.

At present the same 2 GB data pack has been offered between Rs. 250 to Rs.350. The latest announcement of AirTel offers for selected prepaid users are much cheaper when compared to the world’s cheapest data rate provider Reliance. It is estimated to be 50% cheaper than Jio rates.

AirTel has a long term plans, once the Jio offers end by Dec 2016, the packs and the rates offered by reliance will be definitely in the same range as AirTel has announced now.

Unlike other service providers who are opting discounts for 1 GB data with a monthly recharge plan, AirTel has chosen a bigger segment. However the offer is for the selected prepaid customer’s of AirTel.

In the past AirTel too has announced the offer of 1 GB data just for Rs. 50, it was confined to upfront payment of Rs.1,500. As an extension the company has also introduced a 1.5 GB data pack at Rs.100.

The rate cutting and the data packs are a bit interesting because, ultimately the user is getting benefited. Other players in the sector are not so much indulged at present as they are steady and still in watching the proceedings.
