National Film Awards 2017

The National Film Awards is one of the most prominent and significant award ceremonies for the Movie Industry. Each year a separate panel participates in selecting the nominations, and the jury will select the winning entries.

The celebrities actively participate in the event and joyously take their awards. This has been like a ritual ever since 1954. Continuing the tradition, 64th National Film Awards function was held grandly on 28th March 2017. Actors from all over the country participated in the event.

So many prestigious films, beautiful love stories, heart-wrenching biopics, inspiring movies were released last year. Out of which Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja won the Best Film Award in the National Film Awards 2017. Dashing hero Akshay Kumar who currently changed his way and started doing sensible movie won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Rustom.

Actress Surabhi got the Best Actress Award for Malayalam movie Minnaminungu. Stunning actress Priyanka Chopra’s debutant film as a producer titled as Ventilator got 4 Awards at the event. Best Film with a Social Message National Award went to Shoojit Sircar’s Pink movie starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu under the direction of Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.

Game of Thrones Breaks the Emmy History with Most Wins Ever

68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards event held on September 18, for the year 2016. The HBO’s blockbuster series and the Fantasy Drama Game of Thrones once again grabs three awards in this year. With this, wins Game of Thrones (GoT) has reached another milestone, the total lifetime awards of 38 and stands at the top for winning the most awards at Emmy.

Game of Thrones has received the award for the Outstanding Drama Series and the Executive Producers David Benioff, and DB Weiss accept the prize.

Surprises don’t stop coming for Game of Thrones. This show won 12 Awards at Emmy in this year which includes awards for best writing in a drama series, best directing in a drama series and best drama, etc. out of 23 nominations.

The Ultimate INDYWOOD Film Carnival 2nd Edition 2016, a Four Day Festival will go from Sept 24 – 27

While the Game of Thrones lost in the drama acting categories, it took home best drama for the second time consecutively. Other shows up for the best drama were also awarded on Sunday included The Americans, House of Cards, Downton Abbey, Better Call Saul, Mr. Robot, and Homeland.

Some awardees expressed their feelings on achieving this award in Emmy. “I’d also like to take this opportunity to apologize for the current political climate personally,” said Julia-Louis Dreyfus, after winning a record fifth straight Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.

Teen Choice Awards 2016

Teen Choice Awards 2016, annual award honouring ceremony took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California, on July 31.The annual event was first started in the year 1991, and it had continued until now. This was the 18th time the annual event had taken place. Artists from different categories music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, and the Internet were awarded these awards.

Nominations were done in two phases, and winners were selected on the basis of voting done by viewers between the age groups of 13 to 19.The voting is done via social media sites like Facebook, Twitter. WWE superstar JohnCena along with Victoria Justice had hosted this year’s event which remains to be one of the highlights.

The event rocked with scintillating performances from Flo Rida and Bebe Rexha. After their performances, they are awarded congratulatory surfboards. Fans decided the winners and awards were given to some of the biggest names in movies, TV, and music.
