To meet up with the requirements of third-party apps, Twitter has launched its updated and new API in the market, after a security breach caused the delay. Keeping all the reviews in mind, the developers of Twitter has made this API more flexible and scalable to other apps like Tweetbot and Tweet Delete. According to the latest post of Twitter Developer Blog, Twitter’s API “has long taken a one-size-fits-all approach”. After the significant shift, one can notice multiple access levels, product tracks and a new foundation.

In the past, what Twitter had done about third-party developers was totally different from the latest update it has made. In 2018, they had to end support for developer tools. But it has not been clear whether the developers retrieve the ability to refresh user’s feed and send push notifications.

Guide to the Future and Public Roadmap are the two avenues for third-party developers to learn more about what will be next for the Twitter’s API, while being committed to keeping the API-friendlier to developers in future.

After the update and changes made by Twitter, it has basically three levels, namely custom, basic and elevated. The basic level is free, while other two are not free. Earlier Twitter’s API was separated into different platforms, which required developers to transfer APIs due to the increase of the product. The blog post also said that such transfers won’t be necessary under the new and updated system.

After improving the API, a new feature has been added (that is three new product tracks). The three tracks are namely standard, academic and research. Most of the developers will prefer to use standard track as said by Twitter, including “those just getting started, building something for fun, for a good cause, and to learn or teach.

As Twitter is trying to be friendlier towards its developers, they have made this update. The new features are built up to meet up with the needs of the developers and also to give them faster features.
